Ladies, I will steal your Flamingo and then I'll steal your heart.
I like Will Ferrell. I like him so much that I would make him a mixtape, open the car door for him and if he asked, I’d go see Nickelback with him…well… maybe not Nickelback. I don’t think I could ever like someone that much. But I have yet to grow despondent on Mr. Ferrell and I am more than ok with that. Right about now you may be asking yourself; “fantastic dude, but where is all this going”? Well it’s a good thing you asked….
Old Milwaukee’s newest pitch man has just signed on to star in Flamingo Thief, based on the book of the same name by Susan Trott. The description of which goes like this:
Everyone handles grief differently but none so differently as Tim Forester, multimillionaire Juice King, who lost his son a year ago. It starts with him quietly pocketing a china flamingo belonging to his three year old niece, Joy, and by his tenth flamingo has escalated to felony grand theft. He is shot by one person and shot at by another. He is losing his business and his wife but he is feeling better. Flamingo thieving makes his heart beat. He comes alive. In a way he is having a wonderful time. But how will it end? Quite possibly in prison. Flamingo Thief is a funny, bittersweet story of love, loss, family, fruit and flamingoes. The reader will never forget Tim Forester, his disastrous way of dealing with grief, and a heart that is bursting with love.
Never forget Tim Forester? Well, given that the novel is being adapted by Michael LeSieur , the man who gave us You, Me and Dupree, he may turn the unforgettable into something truly abysmal. But this sort of thing I think is right in Mr. Ferrell’s wheelhouse. Stranger than Fiction remains underappreciated and if you haven’t seen last year’s Everything Must Go, get on that ASAP. Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films is going to produce, hopefully making up for giving us The Big Year and 30 Minutes or Less. And no director is attached as of yet. Paging Wes Anderson…
