Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 8:20PM New 'Amazing Spider-Man' Clip: "No Bag, No Gwen"

Don't Peter Parker/The Amazing Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) make a super cute couple? I don't think so either. But, in the first clip released for Marc Webb's Spidey reboot, young Parker will do just about anything he can to reach Gwen in her place other than share the contents of his backpack with a nosy doorman. You may recognize the doorman. He previously played my personal favorite, former Rescue Me NYC firefighter Ken Shea (John Scurti) in the recently extinguished FX series.
The clip comes from the new Mark of the Spider-Man viral ad campaign that launched last week, and we'll likely see much more from it before the movie debuts on July 3rd. While the scene isn't terribly exciting, no web slinging or Lizard villainy for the eye to see, it does show how reluctant Peter Parker is to expose who is alter ego is. Parker is the polar opposite of a smooth talker, which is another distinguishing different between him and Spidey.
The scene is a lead in to where Peter emerges through the window of Gwen's apartmen, as you can see in the trailer below after the clip. For future reference: when the evil doorman won't let you take the elevator or stairs, why not just scale the building like Spider-Man? See movies can teach us important life lessons, but please don't try that at home.
