Monday, February 20, 2012 at 12:57PM 'Kick-Ass 2' Will Start Shooting this Summer & More from Millar

The sequel to Kick-Ass might see the light of day. That's good news, as it looked more and more doubtful there for a minute! The creator of the popular comic, Mark Millar recently confirmed the highly-demanded sequel will start shooting this summer along with another comic based film called American Jesus. He's also hard at work developing a Bond-esque project, Secret Service, with Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn.
Millar spoke with the Daily Record about these projects.
"We shoot KICKASS 2 and AMERICAN JESUS this summer. Then Matthew (Vaughn) and I have Secret Service, which is a neddy James Bond," Millar said. Please note: "Neddy" is Scottish slang for nerdy, I just assumed it was misprint.
He talked more at length about Secret Service, considering it's the project he's currently working on the most.
"We came up with this idea of a wee ned (nerd) who becomes a gentleman spy, ditching his trainers for his Savile Row suits and being taught how to speak properly."
Millar has many projects hitting both comic book shelves and movie screens in the future. And although he doesn't say much about the Vaughn produced Kick-Ass sequel, at least he admits it's happening shortly with a semi-concrete time of production.
I'm jazzed for more Kick-Ass and know I'm not the only one. Who's with me?!
