I could go into Pixar's spotless track record, but unless you've been living under a rock, you already know that. What? Cars 2? You mean that wasn't just the product of a horrible fever dream? Huh. Well, Pixar's mostly spotless track record, anyways. Their next project, Brave, looks to continue that tradition with the effective trailer we've already gotten, and the new poster that was released today. It doesn't show anything too much different, but it's an effective one nonetheless.

Every Pixar movie (except, well, y'know) has been an amazing feat not only in storytelling, but in animation, and this poster highlights what I really think is going to be the visual highlight of the movie: Prince Merida's hair. Yeah, it'll probably destroy the manly image I've spent oh-so-much time and effort building up for myself, but I love that hair. It's just so colorful and frizzy, and the way it moves just looks so realistic. Here's the trailer so you can decide for yourself.
Others have pointed out that the story seems to rest on a pretty cliched foundation. Namely, the whole "rebellious warrior princess defies social standards" trope that's been done plenty of times before. At the same time, I trust that Pixar will do enough to shake things up in the final film.
Brave stars Kelly MacDonald, Emma Thompson, and Billy Connolly
