New International Trailer & Poster for ‘The Cold Light of Day’

Summit Entertainment has brightened our Wednesday morning by unveiling the international trailer for their The Cold Light of Day action thriller.  Directed by Mabrouk El Mechri (JCVD), it stars Bruce Willis, Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Sigourney Weaver, Caroline Goodall (Schindler’s List), Joseph Mawle (The Awakening) and Rafi Gavron (Celeste and Jesse Forever). It is set to open on April 6th.

The Storyline: A young American uncovers a conspiracy during his attempt to save his family, who were kidnapped while on vacation in Spain.

In the trailer we are introduced to Will Shaw (Cavill), a nice young man who suddenly finds himself sucked into some kind of international conspiracy after his family disappears while vacationing in Spain.  While trying to unravel the mystery, he is thrust deeper into the muck when his father (Willis) appears around the same time as a steady stream of bullets and “bad” guys.  Although it’s not readily apparent if they’re the bad ones or his father is, but no matter, it has all the makings of a bonafide kick-ass action flick.  The screenplay is courtesy of Scott Wiper (The Condemned) and John Petro.

This film has the makings to be a really excellent actioner and would have been a better vehicle to showcase Gina Carano’s talents rather than the limp Haywire.  With that said, and taking nothing away from Mr. Cavill as this looks like it will be a nice springboard for his celebrity status leading up to his breakout role as the iconic Man of Steal later this year.
