Who will Spock Vulcan death grip this time and why?The sequel to the mind-blowing Star Trek remake has been shrouded by a cloaking device of mystery thus far. J.J. Abrams, in typical Abrams' fashion hasn't tipped his hand details wise regarding the films villain, other than selecting Benedict Cumberbatch (War Horse) to fill that vacancy. Today, GTBP via Pop Sugar can make any loyal Trekkie jump for joy, as new unofficial images from the set are here for their viewing pleasure.
We may know next to nothing about the untitled sequel, so maybe these pics below can shed some light on what to expect or not. The first image features Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto) applying what appears to be the Vulcan death grip on Cumberbatch's unknown villain character with a pair of spittin' image stunt doubles looking on.
Damn I wish I knew who Cumberbatch is supposed to be here! The next is of Spock and Cumberbatch in an epic, windy fight scene sans stunt men. Perhaps the death grip didn't take this time...
The final pic has the wicked sexy Zoe Saldana drawing an invisible phaser on another villain (not sure whether it's Cumberbatch). Question: where's the rest of the away team?
The other Enterprise crew members are M.I.A here which really puzzles me. I suspect we'll see Kirk, Scotty and the rest of his boys in future set leaks, I'm crossing my fingers any way. Of course, throw in the green screen background and we really have no clue where our federation friends are at and why.
Star Trek the untitled sequel will be beamed into theaters on May 17, 2013. We'll do our best to keep Trekkies up to warp speed (insert laughter here) on the sequel updates.

There's no such thing as a death grip. Star Trek is non-violent. And it's Cumberbatch. Not Cumberpatch. You fail at reporting.
