Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 8:14PM Adam Sandler's 'That's My Boy' May Have Potential With First Trailer
Thank God Sandler's not dressing in drag this time around
What is happening to Adam Sandler? I haven't seen a person shell out so much crap before in my life but it seems as though general audiences don't mind. Sandler is sitting on a goldmine with his crappy movies but, with hope, his next film might prove different. That's My Boy looks like a risque sketch on SNL blown up to 90 minutes but it seems as though the elements are there.

At this point, it may seem that Sandler is trying way too hard for a laugh like Crystal at the Academy Awards. That's My Boy stars Sandler as an in-debt 40-something who looks for his successful son to help bail him out. Seeing Adam Sandler in a boyish role takes me back to his early years. If you've seen his film transformation, he went from a boyish, stupid role to a successful, tight ass man. It's a bit unsettling to see him like this.
The film stars Sandler and Andy Samberg as his son. Two generations of SNL alums coming together could be fantastic, if done correctly. The film is written by David Caspe, the writer for Happy Endings, a hilarious sitcom and was rewritten by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer, a third of the comedy troup, Stella) and Ken Marino (Party Down), who co-wrote Wanderlust (which was indeed funny). We'll just have to wait and see.
That's My Boy stars Sandler, Sandberg, Vanilla Ice, Leighton Meester, Susan Surandon, Ciara and Luenell and will hit theaters June 15th.
