Friday, March 2, 2012 at 7:17AM 'Silent House' Motion Poster Anything But Silent

Boy, it seems like they are really pushing the premise that this movie is set in real time aren’t they? If that’s all they got, good luck. Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene, which I haven't seen...don't judge me) stars in this remake of the 2010 film of the same name. The motion posters intended purpose is accomplished. But if you only know about the real time gimmick, here‘s a rundown of what Silent House is all about…in real time.
Trapped inside her family's lakeside retreat, a young woman finds she is unable to contact the outside world as events become increasingly ominous in and around the house.
Pretty much that means characters will scream, doors will be slammed shut, hands will come out from somewhere and grab people, shadowy figures will lurk in back ground. The real time gimmick isn’t going to push me into a theater, not for any movie. Giving me a good fright or two will. The trailer I’ve seen for Silent House doesn’t get me at all hyped to see it.
On the surface it looks like Paranormal Activity with a budget. But I think I’ll give it a chance. You can't always judge a book by its cover right? Plus, It can’t be any worse than most of the horror movies that are made today.
Silent House opens March 9th.
