'Rise of the Guardians' Trailer Has Santa Handing Out Beatdowns

It's a safe bet none of us have ever witnessed the beloved Santa Claus and other classic characters in action like this before.  I'm talking about Santa and his super hero posse in the new Dreamworks animated feature Rise of the Guardians, which shows these "guardians" defending the children who truly believe in them from the forces of evil. 

Today, we have the trailer for this unexpected adventure, and I must confess it looks amazingly dark and cool for a movie aimed at a much younger audience.

Check out the official synopsis for Rise of the Guardians, featuring the voices of Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher, Jude Law and Chris Pine. 

When an evil spirit hatches a plot to take over the world, the immortal Guardians join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs, and imagination of children all over the world.

I like these edgier animated movies that have come out lately, and this looks to be in the same mold as How to Train Your Dragon (another Dreamworks production).  Rise of the Guardians will arrive in theaters just in time to dominate the winter box office on November 21st.
