Movie Trailer: ‘Hit And Run’ with Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard

Summer movies tend to fall into two categories: tent pole franchise blockbusters and wishful thinking rom-coms.  Every year there is that surprise sleeper hit that audiences fall in love with and if the trailer is any indication of the possibility in store, then year’s winner could be Hit and Run.  Directed by David Palmer, Run stars Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, Bradley Cooper, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), Beau Bridges, Joy Bryant (Parenthood), and Tom Arnold

The story follows Charlie Bronson (Shepard), a former getaway driver who decides to jump ship from the Witness Protection Program in order to drive his girlfriend (Bell) to Los Angeles.  Their road trip gets extremely complicated as they find themselves being chased by the feds, Charlie's former gang of criminals (led by Bradley) and the bumbling federal agent (Arnold) responsible for ensuring Charlie’s protection.

Real life couple Shepard and Bell provide a bit of lead-in commentary for their film’s trailer.

In Hollywood-land imitation isn’t just an art form, so in following the path of last year’s break-out hit Bridesmaids, we have a “below-the-radar” film that was written by its lead character.  Shepard went one up by also co-directing AND convincing Bradley to sport a “Rasta-Dew”.
