I've had my eye on David O. Russell's The Silver Linings Playbook for awhile now, mostly because it's his first film since The Fighter brought in all those Oscar wins. And today the debut trailer for this little gem has touched down for our viewing pleasure, and I gotta say it looks impressive. The film introduces Bradley Cooper, and later more importantly Jennifer Lawrence (Am I too old to say she's hot?), as a former teacher who's just released from the nut house and is trying to piece together his old life.
In this extreme struggle, he finds himself drawn to a young neighbor who is also dealing with her own issues of depression, and the two hit it off. I guess the best medicine is having a lady in your life, as you'll see from evidence in the trailer.
The film also features a solid duo of supporting actors in Robert De Niro and the resurgent Chris Tucker. I always appreciate a good drama and will check this one out in theater on November 21st. It may not prove O. Russell Oscar worthy, but should be a memorable flick.
