Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 1:22PM ‘Bachelorette’ Trailer Features Out-of-Control Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, & Isla Fisher

When Bridesmaids became an unexpected smash hit last year, it seemed to open the door for like-minded films to get greenlit. Bachelorette is as like-minded as you can get without actually calling it the sequel. It even went as far as scoring Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids) to play the bride-to-be. Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls), and Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) as her deviant bridesmaids. James Mardsen, Kyle Bornheimer (She's Out of my League) and Adam Scott provide gender balance for writer/director Leslie Headland’s girls-gone-wild film.
When Becky (Wilson) informs her former high school friends that she’s getting married to her handsome sweetheart, Dale (Hayes MacArthur), she asks them to serve as her bridesmaids. Regan (Dunst) is the overachieving Maid of Honor, who is twisted that Becky is actually getting married before her. Gena (Caplan) is a sarcastic romantic and Katie (Fisher) is a non-stop party girl. After the very tame and lame bachelorette that Becky desired ends, Regan, Gena, and Katie decide go wild with their own celebration.
Check out the trailer below.
The trailer reminds us of last year’s Bridesmaids with a Hangover twist. If the trailer is an accurate sampling, then we’re in for a treat.
This film, produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Production Company, made its debut earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. If you cannot wait until it arrives in theaters on September 7th, you’ll be able to download from ITunes on August 10th.
