Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 7:03AM RoboCop's New Look Revealed?
The new RoboCop remake is mostly shrouded in mystery. All we've heard from director Jose Padilha is a few vague details about what the plot plot will focus on (RoboCop's initial creation in the lab), and some high-profile casting decisions. What everyone wants to know about is what the titular hero will look like. The original RoboCop look is iconic, and this film has to straddle the ground between looking like it at bringing something new to the table. After some alleged concept art leaks, I'm not convinced they're gonna manage that.

This comes to us via Geekscape.net. My reaction: Super meh. The original RoboCop look worked because you could believe that he was a cyborg whose limbs were mostly machine. His movement was believably clumsy and robotic. This guys looks too slick. He just doesn't seem to have any personality. This makes him look like a background soldier from a Halo game. Honestly, look at that helmet and say with a straight face that you want to know more about him. Of course, this is early work even if it's real, so I'm still holding on to hope that the final result will live up to the original.
RoboCop is set for an August 2013 release and stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Editor's Note: The above concept art isn't real and the artist who created it has no affiliation with the production of RoboCop or MGM. Thanks goodness...

Looks too much like an Iron Man wanna be than RoboCop. Two Thumbs down from this guy!
I agree with your comments. It just looks like sh*t!
As a bear in the woods...
A bear in Detroit shits too, but it looks like digested iron man suit.
I think the film makers have watched too many superhero movies. Part of the story of the original Robocop, at least in the first movie, was a human struggling to make peace with being in a pretty awkward robotic body. That will be lost with a costume design that looks like a ready made action hero.
he looks like he's wearing one of those thongs that strippers used to wear in the 80s...

the chicks look hot, but this design is worse than getting your arms ripped off, getting beaten up with them, locked in a public bathroom booth, set on fire and thrown down a cliff...
TERRIBLE
Just why? That looks very mainstream super soldier. Why didn't they leave Robocop alone?
