The latest Nick Hornby adaptation, A Long Way Down, is piecing together quite a cast for itself. Variety reports that Sam Neill and the lovely Rosamund Pike will come together with the likes of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul and the ever dashing Pierce Brosnan. Imogen Poots, of Fright Night and the talented Toni Collette will also star.
The book centers around four strangers who meet New Year’s Eve as they all happened to come to the same rooftop with the intention of committing suicide. Unable to go through with their original plans the four bond together and support one another through their tribulations.
I’m still a sucker for High Fidelity and About a Boy wasn’t bad in its own right. I’m too much of a soccer fan to enjoy the film version of Fever Pitch but the point is, his work adapts well to the screen and this looks to be no exception.
Pascal Chaumeil is directing and is already shooting so we can expect to see things go down in 2013.
