Everyone knows about Google. From Google Chrome to job perks and their fun little emblem that changes for holidays or special events like the Olympics or National Talk Like a Pirate day. In 2013 this internet empire will be jumping from computer screens to the big screen.
For the new comedy Internship it takes center stage as the company that hires two middle-aged men who lose their jobs. Directed by Shawn Levy (Real Steel) it reunites Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers). The pair revert to the good ole days of having an internship at a company with bosses that are much younger than them. And humor ensues.
You may be asking why a major company like this would even need to be the plot point of a blockbuster comedy. If business classes or common sense has taught us anything it's that product placement is everywhere in entertainment. Here's the twist: Google has no financial stake in this. Just another way to get free advertising and remind IE that Bing isn't that great. I have a feeling the Google takeover may pull me out of this movie. Just hoping not.
