There are some movies so wrapped up in their own time period no one will (probably) ever think of making them. I doubt we'll ever see a remake of The Graduate, Platoon, or Back to the Future. The Crow should be on that list. It's a film that was dark and grungy before dark and grungy was a cliche. It was style over substance, but from when that kind of style was interesting enough to carry the film. A remake won't have that advantage, even with a talented actor like James McAvoy.
Reportedly, the filmmakers for the upcoming remake are circling in on the Wanted star to play the lead role of Eric Draven, the musician who is killed alongside his girlfriend and then mysteriously comes back to life to seek his revenge. This shouldn't be taken as a confirmation that he's nabbed the role, though. The part of Eric Draven has been a revolving door for actors, with Mark Wahlberg, Bradley Cooper, and Channing Tatum having been interested in it before. For what it's worth, McAvoy is by far the best choice for the character. If this is going to be made, I hope he's the actor the casting roulette lands on.
