With the many teaser posters and trailers, how could the theatrical trailer make us any more excited? It can, oh boy it can. With the second phase of Marvel movies kicking off with Iron Man 3, it looks as though these next films are getting darker and mature. The second tried to dive deep into the psyche of Tony Stark but never got skin deep with deus ex machina scenarios. Shane Black looks to be the director to darken up Iron Man.
I wouldn’t want to say that he’s Dark Knightifying Iron Man but it’s coming pretty close. Check out the trailer below, which looks as though Tony Stark has everything to lose and nothing to gain.
With every trailer and poster coming out I see myself getting more and more excited for this to come out. This is the first time we get to see a bit more Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce in all their villainy. Though their plans are unraveling piece by piece with every trailer, we still don’t have the slightest idea what is going to happen.
I do want to point out that some of the sequences in the trailer very much remind of the early scenes in the first film in the series where Stark is developing the Iron Man Mark 1 suit. Makes me wonder if the film is going to rely on Stark’s past in Afghanistan.
How could I not talk about the new suits, which may or may not play a key role in the next Avengers flick. Is that the Hulk Buster suit? I don’t know but I am truly excited to see what Black can do with this material.
The scale of this film is huge which makes me wonder? How can the next batch of films top this? Compared to The Avengers, this isn’t that big in scope but it comes pretty damn close. Also, what's The Mandarin's connection to Captain America in the movieverse?
