Friday, March 8, 2013 at 8:00AM 'Hangover 3' Teaser May Excite Some, Doesn't Do Much For Me

Yesterday, David Hoffman gave us the teaser poster for The Hangover 3 that "borrowed" from the last Harry Potter film. It's pretty funny and based on that the third film feels likes it's going to a completely new and (hopefully) fresh direction. However, with the new teaser, while it does manage to bring some laughs and site gags, it feels like it's being Die Hard-ified.
With every Die Hard film, the stakes get bigger and bigger and realism goes right out the window. The same can be said from what I've seen in the teaser. The stakes are getting bigger and bigger and just seems very unrealistic. Check it out for yourself
You may fight me on this but this doesn't get me more excited for the film. After the sequel, I'm more cautious about the marketing. What we now know is that Alan's father, played by Jeffrey Tambor, is dead and Doug is no where to be found. But at least we get Melissa McCarthy so it's a fair trade.
Hangover 3 opens May 24 and stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Ken Jeong.
