'Buffy' Scribe Hired For 'Tomb Raider' Reboot

The first two Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movies were a massive step forward for Video Games being recognized as a legitimate art form in our culture.  They're also two steaming piles of crap.  Random piece of trivia: A pre- James Bond Daniel Craig is actually in the first one.  That's about the most interesting thing I can think to say about it, sorry.  There's been a Tomb Raider reboot in the works for a while now, but a new writer has been hired that gives us reason to be happy.

That writer would be Marti Noxon.  She's written some decent fair, like a few Glee episodes and the Fright Night remake.  Better than that, though, she wrote 23 episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, one of the best "girls-kick-ass" shows around.  I don't think I have to tell you good of a choice that sounds like.  I'll be interesting to see just how the rest of the project comes together.  Megan Fox was originally in the running for female action hero Lara Croft, but her lack of non-Transformers related success probably killed that.  Who do you think should play Lara Croft?

I would like to see what Jena Malone might do with the character. She's been in these roles as the young sweetheart, but I feel she's got a heavy spark.
