Trailer For 'Blackthorn:' Butch Cassidy's Twilight Years Fueled By Some True Grit

Do you guys remember that wildly unfair freeze-frame at the end of 1969’s Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Well, Magnolia Pictures and new-ish director Mateo Gil, who’s better known as the co-writer of Alejandro Amenabar’s The Sea Inside and Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes, which later became Vanilla Sky) have gone back in time and sort of...tweaked that infamous final moment from the 60’s classic.

If Tom Cruise tries to star in a remake of this one: shoot to kill.

Two Years Later, 'Greatest Showman on Earth' Nabs A Director and Gets Moving

Back in 2009, 20th Century Fox announced their P.T. Barnum bio-pic, The Greatest Showman on Earth, cast high-kicking Hugh Jackman in the titular role, and then...well... waited.  So it seemed.

"Come on down, kids! Come on down to Hugh's Pectoral Circus!"

Now, a scant two years later, the film, about the creation of Barnum’s famous three-ring circus and his growing obsession with performer and “Swedish Nightingale” Jenny Lind, is finally showing some signs of life.  Namely, they’ve got someone to direct the thing.

Sorry, Fanboys: Jackson Nixes 'Hobbit' for Comic Con

For those expecting a showing from the team behind Peter Jackson’s oft-delayed Hobbit films at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, the man himself has taken to the web to disappoint you.  Then again, Jackson, in his Facebook missive, goes to lengths to prove that the real disappointment would be in seeing how little progress has been make on the Tolkien epic thus far.

'Shatnerpalooza' is An Actual Thing: Will 'The Captians' Bring Nerd-Glory to Comic Con?

Some people might think William Shatner is a bit of a joke.  Some people might choose to only remember him as he was; the original Captain on classic “Star Trek.”  Some still might thank him mercilessly for the killer deals he gets us on flights and hotels.  But none of these truly pin the man down.  I, for one, think the man is a not-so-secret genius, and if you pay attention to what he’s been doing with himself since he took off his Captain's garb, you might just notice that he’s the guy who probably has the best sense of humor about himself than any working actor out there.

New 'Muppets' Teaser Trailer Does Action, Stays Awesome

Earlier, we posted a short teaser for writer/star Jason Segel’s new Muppets opus, which did an excellent job painting the upcoming film as the most ridiculous romantic comedy ever made.  They’ve also done a delicious faux version of the Hangover: Part II trailer, called Fuzzy Pack (they’re backy-back.)
