I was already debating whether or not Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol was going to be a theater trip, and if the rumor that is spreading like wildfire today turns out to be true, it may just push me over the edge. Supposedly, the 6 minute opening sequence from The Dark Knight Rises is playing before M:I in IMAX theaters someone reported to /Film.

This Means War is a spy vs. spy action/romcom tagged as a film about Two CIA operatives wage an epic battle against one another after they both fall in love with the same woman.
This is the first I'm hearing of this potential instant-classic from the brilliant McG. He has been producing quality entertainment since the debut of his 2002 creation Fastlane. It was not my favorite show of all-time, but I did watch it, just because who doesn't want to watch T.A. Thiessen boss people around.

On 20 October the Toronto After Dark film festival gets underway. The lineup looks to be quite fun, but as I watched the trailers two of them stuck out like sore thumbs: Some Guy Who Kills People and the world premiere of War of the Dead.
Some Guy Who Kills People is a dark comedy starring the far too underrated Kevin Corrigan as a down trodden man that has been pushed one too many times and decides to take matters into his own hands with what looks like a variety of edged weapons.

It is no secret that JJ Abrams likes to keep secrets, so it should come as no surprise that he is keeping a reported project with Earth 2 visionary Billy Ray under wraps. Keeping the masses in the dark more than worked for Super 8, and as I recall he didn't exactly over publicize the Star Trek reboot. I may have just been fortunate enough to miss all of that not having cable in my house, so the strategy will be tried once again with this project that has been billed as a 'mysterious adventure.'

I'm very excited to be very excited about an Alien movie again. I haven't really been excited for one since Fincher's Alien 3 way back when. This film generates excitement on many different levels. The cast. Ridley Scott is back in the captain's chair once again. And the best part is that Damon Lindelof has joined the project and shaken things up, and added that bit of withholding-mystery he and some of his buddies are becoming quite well known for.
