Jack Bauer Says '24' Movie Could Start Shoots in Spring?

When Special Agent Jack Bauer speaks the world better listen...

Every few months a new 24 movie related story emerges, the last one indicating shooting for the film could start next spring.  Now, Jack Bauer a.k.a Kiefer Sutherland says, via a Twitter quote, he'll be ready to begin production on the highly-anticipated movie adaptation of the hit Fox series in April or May.  It's encouraging that Sutherland reiterated the same game plan, which was reported by Deadline months back of a spring start.

Jack Bauer Says '24' Movie Script is Almost Finished

Word of a 24 movie adaptation has been in the supposed development stages for awhile.  So, it should be reassuring when CTU super agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) himself says a feature film script is close to completion.  

The Telegraph recently conducted an interview with Sutherland about the popular Fox series that spanned eight seasons, each episode including 24 hours of agent Bauer's hectic, action-packed day.

Kiefer Sutherland Is Hopeful That '24' Will Shoot In January

It hasn't been smooth sailing for the 24 film adaptation, but if the show taught us anything, it's that you can never count Jack Bauer out. Kiefer Sutherland was doing the rounds on morning talk shows to promote his new play The Winning Season and he mentioned on both Good Morning America and Live with Regis and Kelly that he is still very interested in filming a big screen adaptation of 24.

On Regis and Kelly, Sutherland said:

"People come up to me and say they love the show. It's funny, because I don't feel like we finished. It's still such a presence in my life. There will (be a movie). We will hopefully start next January, and Tony Scott is one of the directors who has expressed great interest in doing it. I think he would be fantastic. I am really excited to do that."

'24' Movie In Critical Condition

Over two weeks ago, Billy Ray submitted a script to Fox for a movie adaptation of the hit TV series, 24.  However, the script was turned down and the storyline is officially dead.  However, Entertainment Weekly caught up with executive producer of 24, Howard Gordon and in the interview he shares that while they may need a new version of the script there is a person in Hollywood who can save it.

Says Howard, "There is talk about re-approaching it. I understand Tony Scott is meeting with Kiefer to talk about ideas. People are still talking about it."

'24' Movie Will Be in Production Says Kiefer Sutherland

One of the longest running action based TV series might be coming to the big screen.  It's been rumored for a while that the hit show 24, has been in pre-production since April and now, Keifer Sutherland confirms that a movie is pending.

Says Sutherland, "It's a little early for me to say, but some amazing filmmakers have made themselves available to make the film. We're very excited," he said. "It's going to be a bad day and Jack Bauer will somehow find himself in the middle of it."

This movie might be a bit tricky to make as the major part of the show is to give an actual 24 hour sequence of events.
