Joel Edgerton in '300' Prequel 'Battle of Artemisia'?

Joel Edgerton labeled as the little guy in Warrior when compared to Tom Hardy's freakish physique in the film, might need a reason to bulk up himself soon.  Edgerton is said to be in negotiations to star in the new 300 prequel Battle of Artemisia, Vulture reports.  The next Frank Miller (300, Sin City) graphic novel film adaptation will be directed by Noam Murro, who's most recently known for helming the dramedy Smart People.

A New Title and Director for '300' Prequel

Certainly Frank Miller's Xerxes graphic novel, a prequel to 300 would be getting the silver screen treatment. After the box office success, many expected Zack Snyder to come back as a director and then got the Superman gig, Man of Steel. No biggie. It was then Guy Ritchie's name was thrown around until the finally decided on director Noam Murro to direct the 300 prequel and is also directing Die Hard 5.

Sequel to 300 to be Called, '300: Battle of Artemisia'; Snyder Out

Zack Snyder will not direct the sequel to 300.  Not because he doesn't want to or the studio doesn't want him to.  In fact, Snyder has told people before that if Frank Miller were to write a sequel to the graphic novel, then he'll be on board to direct it.

Snyder won't direct the film because he's busy directing Man of Steel and I don't blame him.  Superman is a much bigger franchise.  However, Warner is moving forward without him and is currently looking at two potential directors to fill his shoes.

New Trailer For Tarsem's 'Immortals'.

Yes, I went to www.RyanSeacrest.com to get the trailer below. Please watch this so it wasn't in vain. It features gods and demigods, expansive vast landscapes, and wars on an immeasurable scale. Sold yet? No, well if you saw the first trailer and thought it ripped off 300 (the films share some producers) you were in the majority. This trailer definitely looks more interesting. I don't know if I'm sold yet, but they still have time to convince me because the release date is 11/11/2011. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.

'300' Sequel Gets Rolling, But is Snyder Out? And Who's That Coming In?

The creative mind that spawned the graphic-novel-turned-movie 300, Frank Miller, has already penned a sequel to his first epic, called Xerxes.  Warner Brothers, obviously thrilled at turning the imagery of 300 into a franchise, is jumping at the chance to make a second film, and up until now, it seemed like Zack Snyder, director of the first film, was all set to gear up for the second. 

I bet we could find a way to blame this whole thing on Gerard Butler.

But maybe not so much, anymore.  Though Snyder said as recently as last summer that he was working on Xerxes, it now seems he’s stepping back from the project, and an interesting fella is now being rumored to take on the gig.
