All-Star Cast Plays Russian Roulette in '13' Trailer

The upcoming action movie 13 makes Christopher Walken's game of Russian Roulette in The Deer Hunter look pretty tame by comparison.  In this English language remake of 13 Tzameti, wealthy men gather to make high-stakes bets on the lives of thirteen shooters, who take aim on themselves and each other.  

These participants are selected because they owe debts they cannot pay.  A naive young man (Sam Riley) #13 uses a dead man's identity to get into the contest.

50 Cent in 'Lives of the Saints' Movie: Act or Die Tryin'

50 Cent's success in hip-hop hasn't translated much into films, but you have give the guy credit for trying.  After all, he pulled a Christian Bale (Machinist) and lost an unhealthy amount of weight for the film, Things Fall Apart.  Now, 50 Cent has his eyes set on a new project Crash 2 Lives of the Saints, which is a film about "intertwining stories of Angelenos seeking redemption for past mistakes, only to find that forgiveness comes from unlikely places." according to the plot description.

Crash was a great film, there is no doubt about that but do we really need another one with almost the exact same plot?  I wouldn't even watch Crash again if I got a free DVD copy of it.  It's just not a film or plot you'd like to see over and over again.

50 Cent 'Expendable,' Sly Goes with Terry Crews

Time to update your Expendables roster. Sly Stallone, who previously announced the departure of Forest Whitaker and the arrival of 50 Cent to the role of Hale Caesar - which is a fantastic movie character name, by the way - has changed it up again.

Sly called Harry Knowles to say that Fitty was out of the cast and in his place is the very reliable supporting player, Terry Crews. Crews is a former NFL player who managed a handful of seasons with the Rams, Chargers, and Redskins before retiring in 1997. He has worked steadily as an actor since 1999, but particularly in the past four of five years. He's also a big, big dude - about 6'2", 240 pounds - so he'll fit in really well with the rest of the Expendables heavies. If he stays on board. Something about that role seems to bounce actors out into orbit pretty quickly.

Turns Out, Forest Whitaker Really Is 'Expendable'

There has been a change in the starting lineup for Sylvester Stallone's upcoming mercenary movie, The Expendables. Oscar winner Forest Whitaker has bowed out of the project, citing prior obligations.

Stallone has a backup plan, however. Ain't It Cool News says that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has joined the XXL cast. Is he taking over for Whitaker or do the announcements just coincide?Harry Knowles says Whitaker's role has indeed been recast with the star of Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Let's just hope the part doesn't call for some Idi Amin-like insanity, because I'm not sure Jackson would be as effective as Whitaker. If it's action, though, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

50 Cent Launches Film Production Company

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is going to be an extremely busy guy over the next couple of years. Forbes magazine's 26th richest entertainer, earning $150 million between June 2007 and June 2008, told Reuters this week at the Sundance Film Festival that on top of all his other endeavors, he's launching a film production company called Cheetah Vision.

The rapper-actor-entrepreneur says he has already purchased eight scripts and the first film in line is The Dance, in which he would co-star with Nic Cage. "(Cage) plays the founder of a boxing program, and I play a fighter who goes to state prison," 50 explains.
