Adam Sandler to Star in Upcoming 'Candy Land' Adaptation

Oh, Hollywood.  Just how do you manage to be so... Hollywood-like?  Remember how absurd it seemed when it was announced that a movie version of the classic board game Battleship with aliens and Liam Neeson would be made?  Well, you ain't seen nothing yet, because a live action adaptation of Candy Land is currently in the works, and Adam Sandler is going to star.  It'll be helmed by Enchanted director Kevin Lima, and written by Sandler and Robert Smigel for a 2013 release.

New Poster for Adam Sandler's 'Jack and Jill' Just as Bad as The Movie Looks

Adam Sandler stars as Jack & Jill...[insert laughter here]Remember Adam Sandler that funny actor who once did unforgettable comedies like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and used to make us laugh on Saturday Night Live?  Whatever happened to him?  It's hard to believe he's the same person whose churned out recent stinkers in Grown Ups and Just Go with It to what looks like arguably the worst comedy ever, Jack and Jill.

Sandler plays both title characters in this one: Jack who is annoyed when his sister, Jill comes to visit and then won't leave.

'Jack and Jill' Trailer Makes You Want To Mourn The Loss Of Comedy

If you thought Zookeeper looked bad, I don't think you've seen anything yet.  Jack and Jill, the latest Adam Sandler comedy, is about Jack and his sister Jill who visits him in California and never leaves; both roles are played by Sandler.   

One of my favorite comedies from him was Happy Gilmore.  That was comedy gold -- 90s comedy gold.  His most recent films, such as Grown Ups, Just Go With It, Zohan, and Chuck and Larry were just plain garbage and I still don't know how he's still making movies.  The trailer for this film just reinforces that.

Adam Sandler As Dracula In 'Hotel Transylvania'

Hotel Transylvania, the new animated picture from director Genndy Tartakovsky, who directed episodes for some of the greatest cartoons of my generation such as Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars, has just picked up Adam Sandler to voice the lead of the film.  

The film is about classic monsters, such as Dracula, Frankenstein and his Bride, and the Mummy, hiding out in a hotel in Transylvania because of being made completely irrelevant by technology; sounds pretty hilarious.

Movie Review - 'Just Go With It'

Just Go With It Starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker Directed by Dennis Dugan Rated PG-13

Just Go With It seems like an apropos title for Adam Sandler's latest film, since I imagine it was a familiar refrain on the set. "Do we really need three different scenes featuring a guy getting hit in the groin?" "Just go with it." "Are we really having Dave Matthews pick up a coconut with his butt cheeks?" "Just go with it." "We aren't really having a kid poop on Nick Swardson's hand, are we?" "Just go with it."

In this film, once again Adam Sandler plays an ultra-successful man-child who gets entangled in a messy situation thanks to a series of wacky, contrived circumstances. This time around he is Danny, a wealthy plastic surgeon who was scorned by his fiancée on their wedding day 20 years ago, so he's decided to spend his life pretending to be married, which allows him to pick up girls using a sob story about his terrible wife and to avoid any real commitment after he hooks up with these girls.

This horrible, pathetic plan has worked for the past 20 years, but then he meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker), who he inexplicably falls for instantly and is willing to settle down with after spending only one day together. However, Palmer finds the fake wedding ring in his pocket and thinks he is married, so Danny must convince his office manager, Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), to pretend to be his soon-to-be-ex-wife in order to keep seeing Palmer. Katherine is divorced with two kids so through yet another wacky misunderstanding, Palmer thinks the kids are Danny's and wants to get to know them better too.
