Amber Heard To Star In Another Revenge Flick

I have the biggest crush on Amber Heard.  What can I say, she is very appealing but I don't she'll give me the time of day; I'm no Johnny Depp ... nor am I a woman.  She has done some pretty awful stuff, from The Rum Diary to The Informers, Never Back Down, The Stepfather, and The Ward but I could add much more to the list.  She starred in Drive Angry with Nick Cage, a revenge film about a dead man who breaks out of hell to save his granddaughter.  Heard seems to retuning to the genre with Motor City.

The First Trailer for Hunter S. Thompson's 'The Rum Diary' is Here!

I've anticipated the arrival of the next movie adaptation from the novels a.k.a the bizarre mind of the late Hunter S. Thompson for years now.  The Rum Diary stars former Thompson pal and the actor who portrayed him perfectly in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Johnny Depp.  The first trailer for The Rum Diary is here thanks to ET Online, and it looks like a hilariously fun/chaotic 110 minutes at the theater.

John Carpenter Releases Partial Trailer for 'The Ward'

If you read my post last week for the best film trailers of 2010, then you know I consider myself a huge horror buff.  I really have one person to thank for that (well two if you count my mom for showing me a slasher flick at a very inappropriate age, thanks mom!).  And, that person is the iconic John Carpenter.  The first time I saw that mental patient walking around Haddonfield in an all white William Shatner mask I knew I had it bad.

Yesterday, Carpenter released a "trailer intro" for his latest film The Ward.  While I normally would have waited until a full trailer was released to pass it on to you guys, I decided to post this one for two reasons:  1. it's John Carpenter, and 2. it actually looks pretty good.

'Hellraiser' Reboot for Teens?

With Halloween just around the corner, it seems as though The Weinstein Company have deemed this a fitting time to break some news on films coming from their horror arm, Dimension.  At last night's Scream Awards, Wes Craven and cast debuted the first trailer for Scream 4, and now this morning we're getting a few frightening tidbits about their long delayed Hellraiser reboot.

Last we heard the production slot originally scheduled for the reboot was going to be used for another dreadful direct to dvd release of the original series, Hellraiser: Revelations, once again leaving the fate of the reboot in question.  Well today the studio assured us that the reboot is still happening, happening soon, and happening in a manner that will cause a cold shiver to run down the spine of Pinhead fans everywhere...

It's happening for teens!

Less-Than-Fantastic 'Fantastic Four' Casting Rumors

Some ice breaking on the new Fantastic Four reboot over at Fox. Since ComicBookMovie is one of the sources here and the site says that any movement on F4 will wait until after the studio is sure X-Men: First Class is a moneymaker, this could be very premature. Still, I guess it doesn't hurt to spitball some casting ideas.

Screenrant reports that the studio likes Either Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Adrien Brody for Mr. Fantastic. Either would be an upgrade of the solid but forgettable (or at least not memorable) Ioan Gruffudd. They might need a bigger draw than either of those guys if they want the property to do better than it has in the past; clearly, the name Fantastic Four won't be enough to move $200 million worth of tickets in the US, and given that it's a used car now... The other rumor involves Sue Storm. ComicBookMovie says Alice Eve, who was in the running for First Class, and Amber Heard (ditto) are both possibilities. I had trouble taking Jessica Alba seriously, both as a blonde and an esteemed scientist. Of the two, I think Alice Eve probably has a more natural believability. Heard's just 24, and Eve is closer to 30.
