Don Cheadle Says His Miles Davis Biopic is Going Gangster?

From War Machine to Miles Davis...Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors around, because of the diversity in the roles he pursues.  However, I must admit I'm puzzled when reading about his upcoming passion project, a biopic on late jazz musician Miles Davis.  Apparently, Cheadle has been planning this biopic for awhile, even going as far as to direct and star just to see it get made.  

Cheadle described the project in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, and the film about Davis sounds like it's far from your typical biopic.

Amanda Seyfried to Star in Linda Lovelace Biopic?

Amanda Seyfried a big reason why 'In Time' suckedThere are a handful of actors in Hollywood who are just plain terrible with each performance, yet he or she somehow keep getting bigger and better roles.  Amanda Seyfried, who single handedly made a very bad In Time movie almost impossible to finish watching, falls into that category.  Yes, her performance was that unbearable.  

Seyfried is now in talks to play infamous pornstar Linda Lovelace in one of two upcoming biopics about the adult film star-turned-porn activist, whose life ended in tragedy, according to Variety.

Ben Affleck to Direct Matt Damon in Crime Lord Biopic

Over the last few years, Ben Affleck's comeback really has to be considered one of the more impressive in Hollywood.  After both the 2003 mega bomb Gigli (don't bother learning how to pronounce it, it isn't worth the effort), and his ill-fated relationship with co-star Jennifer Lopez, people were tired of him as an actor and even more as a person.  Four years later, he amazed everyone with his directing abilities in Gone Baby Gone, one of the best crime thrillers to had come along in years.

Sony Gets First Dibs On a Steve Jobs Biopic?

When Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple and Pixar passed away last week after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, the first thing I thought (no joke) was how long before someone in Hollywood wants to cash in on his remarkable story?  The answer is two days, with Sony being the likely beneficiary, according to Deadline.  Though the studio is still in the negotiation phase of acquiring the film rights.

The biopic will be based on the upcoming biography (due out on October 24th) by Time Magazine Managing Editor Walter Isaacson.

The Beatles Biopic 'The Longest Cocktail Party' Finds a Writer & Director

It's almost impossible to believe there haven't been far more movies made about The Beatles, especially considering they're easily one of the two most popular, iconic bands of all time (The Rolling Stones being the other).  That's all about to change with news regarding the new biopic The Longest Cocktail Party, which is based on a book by Richard DiLello that highlights the major events during the band's latter years.

Producer Andrew Eaton told The Playlist that Michael Winterbottom (The Killer Inside Me, 9 Songs) will direct the film from the screenplay written by Jesse Armstrong (In the Loop).
