'Pirates' Director in a State of 'Shock'
Gore Verbinski, whose versatility has shown with The Ring, The Weatherman and a little trilogy about pirates, is preparing for Bioshock. The director and Universal will bring the Take-Two Interactive game to theaters, and Variety notes that John Logan (The Aviator) is working on the script.

It's also being reported that the deal between Universal and Take-Two is the biggest of its kind since Halo was sold back in 2005, although there has been nothing but frustration for fans of that game waiting for a blockbuster, once rumored to be directed by Peter Jackson. Of the contract, Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick says, "The reason I structured it the way I did is to make sure it gets made."
