Brad Pitt Announces Planned Retirement

Wow, this is one big surprise.  Legendary 47-year-old actor Brad Pitt announced today on Australia's 60 Minutes that he's going to give acting another three years, and then quit it altogether.  For the why, Pitt cites his discomfort with his current celebrity status and the reclusive behavior that resulted from it, summing up his feelings as “I don’t want to keep doing this...What’s the point?  I’m not enjoying this.  What’s the point?”  To be frank, if he didn't want attention, maybe he shouldn't have gotten into a relationship with Angelina Jolie.

Jessica Chastain as Princess Diana in ‘Caught in Flight’

At the annual American Film Market (AFM) sellapalooza, a film entitled Caught in Flight has caught the fancy of producers who plan to begin production in March on the bound-to-be controversial film.

The story is based on an article that The Telegraph printed in 2008.  In it, a heart surgeon by the name of Dr. Hasnet Kahn spoke of an intense love affair he had with Diana that began in 1995 and lasted for two years.

Brad Pitt to Star in ‘Twelve Years a Slave’

 

Brad Pitt is back in the news again and once more he has attached himself to a critically acclaimed true story.

Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, was already producing, and now Brad himself has agreed to appear in the movie as well.  Mr. Pitt usually chooses his roles well, and in joining Michael Fassbender and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the film adaptation of Solomon Northrup’s stunning autobiography, it appears he has grabbed another winner.

General Motors to Finance A 'Cannonball Run' Remake By Guy Ritchie?

Movies have always been ideal vehicles for product placement and advertising.  One slumping American Auto Manufacturer, GMC (General Motor Company) is looking to take that Hollywood tradition one step further by co-financing The Canonball Run remake currently being developed by Warner Bros.  The studio wants a Snatch reunion (that sounds bad) by getting director Guy Ritchie behind the wheel and Brad Pitt in the J.J. McClure role previously held by Burt Reynolds.  While, GMC would love to showcase some of its new car and truck models in the film.

Warner Bros. Wooing Brad Pitt For 'All You Need Is Kill'?

Brad Pitt's Moneyball opened yesterday and is dominating the weekend box-office, so it's only natural for Warner Bros. to woo him for one of their projects.  According to Vulture, Warners wants Pitt to headline its upcoming sci-fi action film All You Need Is Kill and make some major "money ball" for them.  The film will be adapted from the Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.
