Ben Stiller, Casey Affleck & Has Beens in New Trailer & Poster for 'Tower Heist'

Looks like Ben Stiller's streak of shit movies continues its rampage adding the comedy Tower Heist to the growing list, coming out November 4, 2011.  The worst part is he somehow convinced talented actors like Casey Affleck (the other Affleck) and Michael Pena to join a cast with a couple of 80's movie has beens in Eddie Murphy and Matthew Broderick.  Throw in the name of director Brett Ratner, and now Tower Heist really sounds awful.

Matt Damon, Ben and Casey Affleck to Collaborate on 'The Trade'

Here's big brother Ben and his best friend Matt to the rescue.  Casey Affleck who recently disclosed that he pretty much spent every dime he had to make I'm Still Here must be looking for a sure thing to get his finances back on track.  Well aside from a superhero movie, it doesn't get much more certain than getting involved with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck who are on a hot streak at the moment.  Not to mention the last time these guys were together, their movie won 2 Oscars and was nominated for 9.  Right now, these guys can't miss.

In a recent interview with MTV, Affleck said that he and Casey Affleck will be rewriting the script for The Trade, which is a story about New York Yankees pictures Mike Kekich and Fritz Peterson who literally traded their lives with each other.

Shocking 'I'm Still Here' Revelation: It's All a Hoax

Director Casey Affleck let slip last week that at least parts of his documentary I'm Still Here were faked. I don't think anybody's really been fooled all along, and now that the movie has been released (to generally poor reviews), he's giving up the ghost altogether.

Affleck today admitted to the New York Times that the whole film is, in fact, staged. He gives a fairly decent reason: "he wanted audiences to experience the film’s narrative," reports the Times, "about the disintegration of celebrity, without the clutter of preconceived notions." Fair enough. Except that it was so transparently all staged that the ruse never really worked.

Big Surprise: 'I'm Still Here' Staged... At Least Partially

Casey Affleck has let slip that at least parts of the documentary he's been working on, I'm Still Here, detailing the career change of his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix, may have been "an act." Phoenix announced early last year that he was giving up acting in favor of becoming a full-time rapper, and the younger Affleck was somehow able to take time off from his own acting career in order to direct a documentary on the transition.

CinemaBlend is reporting that Affleck has stated “The role that [Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs] played in Joaquin's life was to be the bearer of bad news. He was the hammer that crushed the dream. All of that is a little bit of an act.”

Trailer: The Joaquin Phoenix Doc 'I'm Still Here'

Yeah, I still don't know what to make of Joaquin Phoenix and his trip over the deep end. Is he back? Suddenly normal? Well, for Joaquin, anyway. Those answers are not available to me. All I know is if he was acting, this was a terrific performance (or just great performance art), reminiscent of Andy Kaufman.

The chronicle into his year of living dangerously, which I call a Joaqumentary because I like portmanteaus, is I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix. You've probably heard that it was directed by his brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, and that's one of the reasons people think it's a sham: Really? Casey Affleck just happened to have a free year laying around after the best work of his career in The Assassination of Jesse James so he followed what appeared to be a clinically depressed recluse around the country while he tried to become a rap star? Not knowing is the best way to go in, probably, because it really could go either way. Now, as for the new trailer, it's pretty good, thought provoking, even.
