'This Means War' Stuck With R Rating

Even as someone who loves Tom Hardy and...tolerates Chris Pine, I still think that This Means War looks pretty wretched.  A movie about two CIA agents who engage in violent antics over a woman two-timing both of them, all from the director of Charlie's Angels?  The trailers just make it look like a mish-mash of unfunny dialogue and chaotic action.  Well, anyone under seventeen who doesn't think like I do and hopes to get in alone is out of luck, because the MPAA has stuck it with an R rating for "some sexual content."

Chris Pine and Tom Hardy in McG's 'This Means War'

This Means War is a spy vs. spy action/romcom tagged as a film about Two CIA operatives wage an epic battle against one another after they both fall in love with the same woman.

This is the first I'm hearing of this potential instant-classic from the brilliant McG.  He has been producing quality entertainment since the debut of his 2002 creation Fastlane.  It was not my favorite show of all-time, but I did watch it, just because who doesn't want to watch T.A. Thiessen boss people around.

J.J. Abrams Officially Locked into 'Star Trek' Sequel

Apparently there was some concern as to whether J.J. Abrams would return to direct the next Star Trek movie.  That's a scary thought.  I'm glad to report now that Abrams has signed on to helm the highly-anticipated, yet currently untitled Star Trek sequel, according to Vulture.  Equally awesome is the news that Damon Lindelof, Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman are back writing the script and are expected to be finished by the end of the month.

MGM Wants Chris Pine for 'Robocop' Reboot?

We've long know that a Robocop reboot is coming.  MGM owns the rights and Elite Squad creator Jose Padilha has signed on to direct it, taking over for Darren Aronofsky.  Only leaving us with the mystery of who will be selected to reprise the role of Murphy/Robocop this time.

Word is, according to Twitch, MGM is pining (pun intended) for Chris Pine to take the lead role of the iconic, robotic super cop.

Chris Pine In Talks To Join 'Mud'

Chris Pine isn't known for his talenting acting, or seems like he would even know how to do a film without involving action, but he is in talks to play the lead character in Jeff Nichols (Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter) new drama Mud. You might know Chris Pine from such films as Star Trek or Unstoppable, but he also starred in the Play Farragut North which is being adapted into George Clooney's The Ides Of March.
