The Alamo Drafthouse, one of the most envied and maybe copied independent movie theater in the country, is doing something special for Buried, the new Ryan Reynolds movie in which he spends his time frantically clawing at the inside of a coffin. The movie's part of the Rolling Roadshow as part of the Drafthouse's Fantastic Fest next month. Here's where it gets interesting: You can attend the premiere of the film after watching the movie while buried. Uh- huh. Good thing they didn't do this with Poseidon.

Oscar Contest: Win the Best Picture on DVD

Here's your chance to test your skill, knowledge, and luck with the nominated films for the 81st Academy Awards. It works like this: We'll make our selections in each of the categories right now and you have until the start of the show Sunday night to send in your choices. If you get more correct than we do, you win.

But what do you win? Glad you asked: We'll give you a copy of the Best Picture winner on DVD (as soon as it's available), plus a great movie-inspired T-shirt from Muze Clothing and two $20 gift cards from Dale & Thomas Popcorn. That's a $100 value, give or take. In the event of a tie, we will ask all the winners some bonus Oscar trivia, and the first correct answer from that group will win the loot. I must warn you, I'm much better with the Oscars than with the Golden Globes. I went 20 of 24 last year and 21 of 24 two years ago, so there's very little margin for error. See 'Miss March,' Meet the Cast...and a Playmate

If you're one of our local Big Picture readers in Phoenix, we've got a chance for you to check out the upcoming comedy, Miss March, about a month early. It just so happens that the directors of the film, Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore from The Whitest Kids U Know, will be in town this Friday to promote the film, and will be on hand for a special question and answer session following the screening on Friday.

If that's not enough to entice you, 2007 Playmate of the Year Sara Jean Underwood will also be joining us. So if you want to go, you might have to blow off an hour of work Friday afternoon, because the movie starts at 5:30 at Harkins Tempe Marketplace. Look at it this way: You're probably about to get laid off anyway, so what's another hour? The Big Picture will be moderating the Q & A and we look forward to seeing you there.
