What if David Fincher Directed 'The Dark Knight Rises'?

If you weren't convinced that David Fincher was an amazing visual director before, the opening credits sequence of his recent The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo should be enough to convince you otherwise. Amazing credits sequences, in fact, are something of a trademark for the director, going all the way back to 1995 with Se7en.  Se7en's title sequence was influential, for sure, but I don't think anyone expected to see what we have now that Doğan Can Gündoğdu has proven that he might be the most awesome Bat-fan on the internet.  The proof lies after the jump...

Fincher's 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' Won't Get India Release

So begins the next round of publicity for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The highly anticipated film based on the Stieg Larsson Millenium trilogy, starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, won’t be premiering in India because the director, Fincher, has refused to cut some scenes that don’t appease India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Sequel Still Moving Forward

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo may not have made any of GTBP's Top 5 Lists, but it's proven to have been a success with critics and fans of the novel.  Financially, however, the film will likely turn out to be only a modest success, to date making only $72 million on a $90 million production budget.  The underwhelming sales numbers had led some to speculate that the plans to adapt the remaining two books in the series might be called off.  A Sony Rep, however, says this isn't the case.

Movie Review: 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Starring Daniel Craig, Ronney Mara and Christopher Plummer Directed by David Fincher Rated R

Pulsating with darkness and cranking the pacing to 11, David Fincher creates an ever degrading environment in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, perpetuated by a single mentality: Men Who Hate Woman.  There’s no way to convey that message if it isn’t accompanied by retaliation and does it ever haunt its maleficent.  Stieg Larsson’s novel is an international best-seller with over 30 million copies sold, there’s a fan base, if not a particular group, that’s very well aware of its plot and thematic tour-de-force and is entirely evident in Steven Zaillain's tightly-knit screenplay.

Having seen the original Swedish TV adaptation, I can certainly say that Fincher imbues the world that Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) and Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) inhabit.  Dark, dreary and certainly grey, the film has pain and vengeance waiting to reap at every corner.  If you’re not familiar with the plot, here’s a quick take: Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.  Touted in it’s trailers as “the feel bad movie of the year”, the thriller conveys sex and its inevitable abuse and exploitation.

First 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' Music Video Released

David Fincher's adaptation of the bestselling book The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the swiss film didn't take long to climb people's lists of anticipated films, largely due to the amazing first teaser trailer.  A teaser trailer that worked so well because of Trent Reznor's haunting adaptation of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song featuring singer Karen O.  Now, lovers of that song have something else to look at, because a music video featuring the song has been released.  According to MovieWeb, the video will also act as the opening credits to the film.
