- This is the dumping week for movies. Really, the lowest common denominators are available for purchase today. The newest Texas Chainsaw is available but do you really want to purchase this? Cloud Atlas came out today but are you really going to buy it when you barely got through it at the theater? Today will officially be called Redbox Tuesday.

For this Tuesday, it's really hit or miss depending on what your taste is. Safe Haven is one of the films that finds it's way onto Blu-ray and DVD, same with Jack Reacher. I would go as far as to say that Jack Reacher is the biggest film this week, but that's like saying this rotten banana peel is much better than those rotten orange peel.
It was nominated for Best Picture and won for Best Actress at this year's Oscars. Silver Linings Playbook is finally out on Blu-ray and DVD for those who enjoyed the film or for those who missed out on catching this in theaters. I loved the film and was the first time ever where I fell in love with the cast of characters as if they real people I knew. Yesterday we spoke about an alternate ending for the film, which was good but didn't work as the ending for a film with a strong structure, so the special features may be gold for the movie buffs like myself. Also, check out some of the other films this week; there aren't many.
With a release day like today, you may want save that lunch money to buy another movie today. Some good stuff is coming out today like the Naomi Watts tsunami drama The Impossible and the Ryan Goslin fronted Gangster Squad. They're from both ends of the spectrum so buying one and not the other depends on the taste you have in movies. This week we also have an animated Cheech and Chong flick, a powerful documentary on The Central Park Five, and a special 3D edition of Jurassic Park.
A family touring in Thailand is caught in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
Django Unchained was one of the best films of the year and even earned an Oscar nod for Best Picture and came home with a statue for Original Screenplay. It's a Quentin Tarantino flick so you should know what to expect. If you plan on buying this film, know there's nothing else to really spend your money on. Unless you want to go out and buy that new video game Injustice. It's up to you.
