New Trailer For HBO's 'Game Change'

We’ve already ventured into eerie territory when Julianne Moore and Ed Harris have had the miracle of prosthetics transform them into Sarah Palin and John McCain, respectively.  As much as Palin has become a polarizing political and cultural figure since the last election, there’s a certain fascination to the 2008 presidential campaign and HBO has capitalized on it with Game Change.  See the trailer below.

Trailer for HBO Political Movie 'Game Change'

Ed Harris and Julianne Moore as McCain & Palin? I like it...During the 2008 Presidential Election, Republican candidate John McCain announced that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin would be his running mate and shocked the world.  In the trailer for the new HBO drama Game Change, the character Steve Schmidt (Woody Harrelson) says putting Palin on the McCain ticket will be the "game changer" the Republican party needs to secure the presidency.  Of course, we all know how that one ended.

New Trailer: Sam Worthington is 'Man on a Ledge'

Sam Worthington.  Manhattan high-rise.  Possible heist with a jumper.  All possible things that would make a great thriller if there ever was one.  These simple factors can make for interesting drama and a far more interesting character study in Summit Entertainment's new trailer Man on a Ledge.  See the trailer after the jump...  Oh I just couldn't resist.

Matthew Fox & Ed Harris Next on Deck for Brad Pitt's 'World War Z'?

Marc Forster's epic zombie movie World War Z starring Brad Pitt is on a mission to add more supporting actors to the fold.  According to Deadline, Lost star Matthew Fox and one of the baddest senior citizens on the planet in Ed Harris are the latest stars currently in negotiations for the film adaptation of Max Brook's larger than life novel.

The expected parts for Fox, Harris and recently added French actress Julie Levy-Boeken are unspecified for now.  Pitt is the only actor on the film's IMDB page with a character name attached, as the lead Max Brooks.  World War Z refers to the 10 year anniversary that humans won the war against worldwide zombie epidemic, and Brooks travels the globe collecting stories and interviewing survivors of that war.

Movie Review - 'The Way Back'

The Way Back Starring Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Colin Farrell Directed by Peter Weir Rated PG-13

The Way Back has a great premise - a group of prisoners escape a Siberian gulag and then must walk 4,000 to India in order to reach freedom. Unfortunately, the movie itself never quite lives up to the potential of this premise. While it has a handful of great dramatic moments and plenty of great visuals, The Way Back is ultimately a film where the whole ends up being less than the sum of its parts.

Part of the problem is that while the main characters are well-rounded and interesting, most of the ensemble cast isn't fully fleshed out. The film focuses primarily on four characters. The star of the film is Janusz (Jim Sturgess), a Polish prisoner charged with espionage after his own wife is tortured and forced to testify against him. Janusz is the defacto leader who plans the escape and serves as the team's guide. Then there is Mr. Smith (Ed Harris), an American who came to Russia looking for work, and Valka (Colin Farrell), a vile criminal willing to stab a fellow inmate in the stomach to steal his sweater. (The only reason Valka is allowed to come along is because he has a knife, a much-needed item if you plan on escaping and surviving in the wilderness.) There is also Irena (Saoirse Ronan), a young girl they encounter along the way who begs to tag along, even though she will likely slow them down and will cost them precious food rations.
