Fox After The 'Chronicle' Director for 'Fantastic Four' Reboot?

Apparently, two Fantastic Four movies weren't good enough even with a bad ass character like Silver Surfer in the sequel, as a planned reboot has been in the cards for a while.  Don't get me wrong, the movies were considered blockbusters and made bank, but both were universally ripped on by critics and fans alike.  

Not only does Fox have its sights set on another feature film go-around with these four fantastic Marvel favorites, but they've possibly pinpointed their next director as well.

Screenwriter Max Landis Very Enthusiastic About 'Frankenstein' Script

Max Landis, son of An American Werewolf in London director John Landis, is writing the script for the newest big screen take on Frankenstein for Fox.  The film will be helmed by Real Steel director Shawn Levy, which excites young Landis as you'll see in the interview below.  He does admit to having had reservations about Levy directing the horror film at first, until he learned about Levy's vision for the project.

Crime Pays? Fox Agrees to Movie Deal with The Barefoot Bandit

Who could forget the incredible story of Colton Harris-Moore a.k.a The Barefoot Bandit?  Apparently, not Hollywood.  Deadline reports today that 20th Century Fox has signed an exclusive movie deal, worth as much as $1.3 million for the rights to the former teenage criminal mastermind's tale of thievery.

In case you missed it, The Barefoot Bandit went on a stealing spree that lasted two years and spread across nine states.  The kid stole everything (always barefoot) from basic home invasions to a boat, cars and a small airplane.

Fox Gives Green Light to New 'King Kong' Movie

Are monkeys the latest fad? Well, Fox must think so.

Fox’s ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ won’t be in theaters until August 5th, but the studio has other “monkey business” to take care of, an animated version of King Kong.

Hugh Jackman Still Hopeful for 'The Wolverine'

The development road for Fox's Wolverine sequel, so bluntly titled The Wolverine, has been quite the veritable roller coaster.  After the first X-Men Origins film was panned by pretty much the entire world, fans were rightfully worried by the idea of a sequel. Then when it was announced the film would follow Frank Miller's fantastic Japan-centric storyline, things started to look up.  And then, when indie darling Darren Aronofsky signed on to direct, things took on a whole new level of awesome.  Now, cut to the last few weeks when Aronofsky decided to walk from the project and the horrifying events in Japan have left the sequel in a state of uncertainty.

So what now?  Does Fox put the project into turn-around?  Or do they stay the course while looking for a new ship captain?  Right now, no one really knows.  But ComingSoon caught up with the Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, at this week's Cinema Con and, when asked those same questions, seemed very optimistic.
