Couple of Stills From 'Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance'

Well Nic Cage needs a job to pay off his debts.  Actually, he needs a lot of jobs and if you haven't noticed, he's been taking on every single role he's been offered to play.  Which other actor has just finished filming four films which are now in post-production?  So not surprisingly, he's doing a sequel for a movie nobody really wants to see. 

The first Ghost Rider was hardly a success even though it grossed a respectable $228 million worldwide.  Nobody was really excited about it until they showed a little bit of it at Comic Con.  But then again, a convention like that would be easy on any comic book related film.  

With a new director at the helm, this one promises to be more action packed and much more violent.  I'm just not sure that was what was missing in the first one.

First Look: 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance'

As its being proclaimed by many bloggers and major entertainment website, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is the sequel nobody really asked for, but might end up not sucking at all this time around. The film still stars Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze (aka. Ghost Rider), with Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor taking on directing duties. Thanks to this weekend's San Diego Comic Con International, we got our first glimpse of the sequel and a first look.

'Ghost Rider 2' Set Photos Gives First Glimpse

Ghost Rider 2 titled, Spirit of Vengeance is currently filming in Romania where the majority of the movie will be filmed and we have shots from the set showing Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze.

The synopsis of the movie describes Johnny Blaze who is hiding out in Europe and is called upon to stop the devil trying to take human form.  The film is set to release in February 17th, 2012.  I personally didn't think the first one was all that great when compared to other superhero movies and it looks like couple of the guys in the film crew are fans of The Last Airbender...I'm just sayin'.

"Ghost Rider 2," Anyone? Anyone?

If you're like me, you felt relieved when the ending credits for "Ghost Rider" started rolling. Great concept, not so great execution. And, if you're like me, you rolled your eyes and groaned a bit when they announced a sequel.  However, I stumbled upon some casting news that made me pay attention.

'Ghost Rider' Sequel Shooting in Romania and 3-D

You will no doubt remember where you were when you heard the news that Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will be shot in 3-D. It's a momentous day.

MovieWeb cites the European service Hot News as saying the movie heads in front of cameras this fall in Romania, and this is basically what Nicolas Cage said would happen, and of course, he signed up for the sequel days after it was obvious The Sorcerer's Apprentice was going to tank. Said Cage earlier this year, "I'll be filming it in Romania, which is exciting, since that's where Dracula's castle is...The Ghost Rider has to ride up to Dracula's castle." Ghost Rider...ride up...Dracula's castle. OK: Added that to my list of masturbation euphemisms.
