Guy Ritchie Takes Over 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'

Steven Soderbergh's loss is now Guy Richie's gain, as reports from Deadline indicate the Sherlock Holmes director will now take over the new acronym spy film The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  I for one am still excited about this film adaptation of the popular 1960's TV series that pitted two top agents against an evil terrorist organization called THRUSH, despite the seemingly constant turnover.

Soderbergh opted to begin work on his Liberace biopic and possibly inch a few steps closer to retirement by walking away from The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

General Motors to Finance A 'Cannonball Run' Remake By Guy Ritchie?

Movies have always been ideal vehicles for product placement and advertising.  One slumping American Auto Manufacturer, GMC (General Motor Company) is looking to take that Hollywood tradition one step further by co-financing The Canonball Run remake currently being developed by Warner Bros.  The studio wants a Snatch reunion (that sounds bad) by getting director Guy Ritchie behind the wheel and Brad Pitt in the J.J. McClure role previously held by Burt Reynolds.  While, GMC would love to showcase some of its new car and truck models in the film.

'Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows': New On Set Photos

Took them long enough to release some set photos of the upcoming sequel to Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the titular detective. Two New Posters for 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'

Let me first start by saying how much I enjoyed the first Sherlock Holmes movie and regretted not seeing it in the theater.  WTF was I thinking?!

Robert Downey Jr.'s bare knuckle brawl would've been worth the price of admission in itself.  Simply put, I dropped the ball big time.   

I've learned my lesson now and plan to see the sequel to Guy Ritchie's (another reason I should've known it would rock) masterpiece, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on the bigscreen.  We've got two brand spankin' new posters from the next movie courtesy of Yahoo!Movies to look at.

'300' Sequel Gets Rolling, But is Snyder Out? And Who's That Coming In?

The creative mind that spawned the graphic-novel-turned-movie 300, Frank Miller, has already penned a sequel to his first epic, called Xerxes.  Warner Brothers, obviously thrilled at turning the imagery of 300 into a franchise, is jumping at the chance to make a second film, and up until now, it seemed like Zack Snyder, director of the first film, was all set to gear up for the second. 

I bet we could find a way to blame this whole thing on Gerard Butler.

But maybe not so much, anymore.  Though Snyder said as recently as last summer that he was working on Xerxes, it now seems he’s stepping back from the project, and an interesting fella is now being rumored to take on the gig.
