I think I can honestly say that Harold and Kumar is our generations Cheech and Chong.  Albeit, the Harold and Kumar films aren’t as great as the Cheech and Chong films but I think you get the point.  A series of stoner films that everyone can enjoy, and by everyone I, of course, mean any one with tough enough skin to sit through a comedy that is constantly poking fun at your racial stereotypes.  However, the racial stereotypes that made the first two films somewhat popular takes a backseat to make way for naked lesbian nuns, horny old priests chasing little boys and claymation nudity.  The racial commentary is still there but it isn't in your face like it was in the previous film.

'A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas' Red Band Trailer

I have to give props, once again to the Red Band trailer for bringing out a film's true colors.  And the new R-rated trailer for A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas is easily the filthiest of all time.  But what did you expect really, it's a Harold and Kumar movie.  These comedies are founded on excessive weed and drug use, dick jokes and idolizing NPH, and now all of that usual chaos will come to theaters on November 4th in 3D.

'Harold & Kumar' Creators Directing 'American Pie 4'

You know all those direct-to-DVD American Pie movies, like Band Camp? Yeah, those never happened. After making a trilogy of movies with the original cast, Pie was branded for about a half-dozen movies that featured Eugene Levy walk-ons. Apparently, they made a little money. But now a fourth American Pie movie is heading back to theaters.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the guys who created Harold & Kumar, will write and direct the new Pie movie. Well, I guess it could be a lot worse than that. At least they know R-rated comedy. This dovetails nicely with a recent interview in which Seann William Scott said he'd love to come back as Stifler. Outside of Allyson Hannigan, he's the only cast member whose career seems to have forward momentum. Apparently, a lot of the cast members would like to come back, which is one of the reasons Universal is moving forward. Gee, imagine that.

'Harold and Kumar 3' Might Shoot This Summer

While John Cho offered no update on the Star Trek sequel, the FlashForward star told Collider that a third Harold and Kumar movie might happen much sooner than you think.

One reason for a longer delay: Kal Penn now works in the Obama Administration as Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Might be hard to skip work to film a movie. However, Cho thinks it might shoot as early as June, with - of course - the return of Neil Patrick Harris. I thought the sequel would do better business, of course, it would have helped if it had been a slightly better film. Still, these things cost very little, so both movies have been successful. A third one, according to Cho, would be a few years in the future, with Harold and Kumar no longer living together. And, here's something: The threequel is going to be a holiday movie.
