'Inception' & Two Others Headed Back to IMAX Theaters

It's Inception only much bigger

Threee of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters are to blowing up on the IMAX screens again from now until October 6th.  As part of "IMAX Big Movie Week", AMC is breaking open the vault to release Inception, Star Trek and Fast Five in the specialty theaters again.  Fans can enjoy these mind-blowing movie effects one more time for only $7 per ticket.

None of the three were actually shot in IMAX initially, though Inception has some scenes that take full advantage of this format.

Infographic Proves Why Online Buzz Does Not Always Translate to Winning an Oscar

Now that the show is over and all of us in LA can go back to our regularly scheduled lives, I thought it would be fun to play Monday Morning Quarterback and take a look at this little infographic Webtrends.com posted.  The graphic "predicted" this year's Oscar winners by comparing the online buzz of Twitter postings, blogs, and other social media in the last month leading up to the show.

While this is far from an exact science, some late Academy voters tend to be swayed by who is in the spotlight latest in the game.  Which should equal the "online buzz" in the timeframe measured, right?  Not so much.

The Best Trailers of 2010

You know what they say about first impressions, you only get one.  And, that my friends, is why there are few things in the film industry more powerful than a trailer.  Trailers can make terrible films look incredible (I'm looking at you M. Night) and in the worst of times can cause incredible films to lose an audience (colon, frowny face Scott Pilgrim).

5 Things I'm Thankful for This Year in Film (2010)

Anyone that really knows me, can tell you one thing:  I love lists.  Grocery lists, packing lists, Christmas lists, fantasy football lists, you name it and I've probably got a list for it.  And being that Thanksgiving, like any holiday, is as slow of a news day as you'll find in Hollywood, I got to putting together a list of my own.  My favorite five things that have happened in the film industry this year.

So while your drunk uncle rambles on about the things he's thankful for (i.e. that new bottle of Johnny Walker your brother-in-law just brought in), check out my top five after the jump.

Christopher Nolan Answers 'Inception' Questions, Plus an Unused Poster

If you haven't seen Inception, consider this your spoiler alert. I'll leave what Christopher Nolan says about the movie until after the click, so stray eyes won't accidently read what's ahead. But if you have seen the movie, you know there's a ton of unanswered questions that have sparked several debates. Also, there's an unused poster I get to share with everyone. It follows the same theme as the other ones, but I dig the curved city.
