Scorsese and Cameron Discuss 3D and 'Hugo'

Cinephiles, it's time for you to geek out at interesting Q&A with revered directors Martin Scorsese and James Cameron.  The Hollywood Reporter had an exclusive discussion after the screening of Hugo at L.A.'s DGA Theater.  Cameron who was in the audience, contributed his usual promotion towards the use of 3D.

The discussion spanned on the use of 3D narratively in Martin Scorsese's Hugo and that they've now coined "brain sheer" as the official name to that blistering headache you may experience in theaters:

Coming Soon: "Creating Movies With Your Mind"

Don't we all dream about stuff we believe should be a movie?  I certainly do and many scientists have somewhat successfully decided to put together a computer program to help us do just that.  A study in the Current Biology journal reveals the use of MRI scanners, among other electronic devices, to decipher the neaural activity of the brain into images.  Crazy right?

Rumor Patrol: 'Avatar 3' Begins Shooting In November?

I know this may seem a bit far-fetched and it could very well be but YouTube partner and host of the weekly YouTube show, "Movie Buzz" Peter Rallis has come out and stated that Avatar 3 is set to begin filming this November.  Apparently, Avatar 2 has wrapped production earlier this year.  

I don't know how true this rumor is but for now I'm leaning toward true.  If Jim Cameron wants to release these films Christmas of 2014 and 2015, post-production would need to begin about now.  After all, Avatar was in production since March 2008, well over a year before its release in December 2009.

James Cameron Plans 'Walking With Dinosaurs' 3D Movie

Watch out Steven Spielberg, Hollywood's other big fish is bringing dinosaurs to the silver screen.  According to THR, director James Cameron is teaming up with BBC Films to develop a $65 million live-action, CGI movie adaptation of the popular mini-series Walking with Dinosaurs.  He plans to use the same 3D technology made famous by Avatar to bring the pre-historic creatures to life.

Cameron talked about the importance of his CPG company and helping others develop projects with the 3D technology.

Sam Worthington Talks 'Avatar' Sequels, Sort of

Big budget actor extraordinaire Sam Worthington, while out promoting his next film The Debt, was naturally asked what's next for James Cameron's Avatar.  We know sequels to the highest grossing film of all time are coming just not when.
