James Franco Thinks Andy Serkis Deserves an Oscar

My love for this year's Rise of the Planet of the Apes is no secret, and neither is my opinion that Andy Serkis deserves an Oscar nomination for his performance as Caesar in it.  Fortunately, people with far more influence then me agree as a five paragraph essay has recently been released by fellow Apes actor James Franco proves. It explains in surprising detail why Serkis' CGI-laden performance should not be barred from the running, and just how the technology doesn't overshadow what he put into the character.

Demi Moore to Play Gloria Steinem in ‘Lovelace’ Biopic

In a bit of irony to start off the New Year, we learn that Demi Moore will portray the porn-hating feminist activist Gloria Steinem in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic.  This particular version is based on Eric Danville's biography "The Complete Linda Lovelace" and has Rob Epstein (Howl) and Jeffrey Friedman as co-directors.  Lovelace stars Amanda Seyfried in the title role and has a stellar supporting cast that includes: Peter Sarsgaard, Eric Roberts, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games), Hank Azaria, Chris Noth, and Robert Patrick.

Danny McBride & Funny Dudes Join 'Jay & Seth vs the Apocalypse'?

Danny McBride headlines the list of fellow funny men possibly joining Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel for Jay and Seth vs the Apocalypse.  Rogen recently spoke with MTV, while out promoting his next film 50/50, about the end of the world comedy he both co-wrote and will direct.  He mentioned that McBride, James Franco, Jonah Hill and Craig Robinson may be coming onboard as well.

Rogen and company were also pursuing Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, but it looks like he won't be involved.

James Franco Working On a Cormac McCarthy Adaptation

The next director to tackle the newest film adaptation of a novel from the legendary Cormac McCarthy will be James Franco?  Reports are Franco announced at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) that McCarthy's "Child of God" is his next directorial gig.

"Child of God" is the story of Lester Ballard, a troubled drifter who further distances himself from normal society and becomes a sort of violent cave dweller.
