'Identity Theft' Teams Jason Bateman & Melissa McCarthy

Two of the standouts from a pair of my favorite movies to come out in 2011, Horrible Bosses and Bridesmaids are combining their talents for a new comedy from Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, King of Kong).  Jason Bateman and the increasingly sought after actress Melissa McCarthy will team up for Identity Theft, according to Deadline.  Apparently, the role opposite of Bateman, the victim of identity theft was originally written for a man, but Bateman saw Bridesmaids and insisted the part go to McCarthy.

Jason Bateman Says 'Arrested Development' Shoots in Summer 2012

Jason Bateman can't go anywhere or talk about his other movies without the topic of Arrested Development coming up.  Good!  If not for the lovable sitcom, Bateman would probably best be known as the kid from Teen Wolf Too.  Arrested Development put him on the map, and we want to see the movie.  Can't say it's his fault though.

Two of This Summer's Comedy Standouts Will Collaborate in 'ID Theft'

Emmy nominated actress Melissa McCarthy made a name for herself in the movie biz earlier this summer with an unforgettable performance in Bridesmaids.  Everyone knows Jason Bateman, as he headlined not one but two comedies (Horrible Bosses, The Change-Up) over the summer.  

Apparently, Bateman has enough star power and sway that he recently convinced the writers for his next movie, ID Theft to re-write the script specifically to allow McCarthy to join the project, according to Deadline.

Jason Bateman as a Pot Dealer in 'We're The Millers'?

Jason Bateman has hit a wave of popularity as of late with two movies (Horrible Bosses, The Change-Up) out this summer, and a long awaited Arrested Development movie reunion finally on the horizon, according to every star on the show, Will Arnett being the latest.  Now reports are claiming the actor will play a middle aged pot dealer in the new stoner comedy We're The Millers for New Line and writer/director Rawson Thurber.

The project has been on the shelf for years and previously had Steve Buscemi and Arrested Development co-star Will Arnett attached for the lead at different times; however neither case worked out.

Jeffrey Tambor Says 'Arrested Development' Movie Still a Possibility?

With Jason Bateman's Horrible Bosses set to open tomorrow, the inevitable question arises once again: when will an Arrested Development movie be made already?  Jeffrey Tambor, who played George "Pop Pop" Bluth on the popular, albeit short-lived sitcom was asked that very question by the Huffington Post while promoting his latest film Lucky starring Colin Hanks.

For once, Tambor's response was much more positive than usual saying it was "all going straight, everyone's on board, I know they're writing, and maybe next time this year will be having this conversation."
