Longtime Bond Character "Q" to Return in 'Skyfall'

When the James Bond franchise was revived for Casino Royale, one of the many traditional elements that was chucked out was Q, a character who can best be described as a snooty British version of the Dark Knight Trilogy's Lucius Fox.  Now, according to Ain't it Cool News, fans will be able to see his character once again in the recently announced James Bond flick, Skyfall.  Rather than being the nitpicky old man, however, he will now be portrayed by 30-year-old actor Ben Wishaw.

Naomie Harris Confirmed as Miss Moneypenny in 'James Bond 23'

The cast for 007's next adventure, the currently titled Bond 23, is shaping up rather nicely with some notable additions.  The latest confirmation has actress Naomie Harris slated to provide the sexual tension as Mr. Bond's secretary Miss Moneypenny in the 23rd installment, according to Dailymail.  

I was completely ignorant to who Harris was, until I realized she was in the awesome horror flick 28 Days Later.  Apparently she's also been in a few of the Pirates movies, and again my ignorance comes into play regarding those movie sequels as well.

Ray Liotta Next to Join All-Star Cast for 'Cogan's Trade'

We've heard a lot about Cogan's Trade and its A-list cast, headlined by mega star Brad Pitt, over the last few months.  Today the studio brought another solid supporting actor into the fold for Andrew Dominik's upcoming crime drama about a mob enforcer named Jackie Cogan (Pitt), who investigates a heist involving a mob-protected poker game. 

According to THR, veteran tough guy actor Ray Liotta will play the hustler,  Mark "Markie" Trattman who hosts this high stakes poker game in Cogan's Trade. 

Liotta joins the impressive cast list of Pitt, Javier Bardem, Mark Ruffalo, Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Richard Jenkins and James Gandolfini for the project slated to begin filming soon.

Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes as Villains in Bond 23?

Word is director Sam Mendes plans to take the James Bond franchise into darker, more mature territory in the next film.  Earlier in the week, the studio offered a role as the main villain to Javier Bardem and are currently in talks with Ralph Fiennes about a similiar part, according to Daily Mail.

The Daily Mail also claims that unspecified offers have went out to two more well known actors for the cast of Bond 23.  I'll be curious to find out who else has been added to this already impressive cast list, if Bardem and Fiennes have officially joined Daniel Craig on the role sheet by then.

Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen Top Choices for Gunslinger in 'The Dark Tower'?

The planned start date for the Ron Howard/Akiva Goldsman adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is still a ways out.  But, with the amount of prep needed to pull off a truly epic filmmaking endeavor like this, they need to get rolling ASAP.

The first film is truly in the earliest stages of preproduction right now, so information is scarce.  That being said, thanks to a Ron Howard interview with the LA Times and now a story in the New York Post, a few pretty interesting tidbits have been coming out.
