Odd Trailer for Disney's 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'

No longer is it necessary to rely on intercourse or wait for the stork to bring your offspring into this world.  Disney proves it with the new movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green that you can simply grow the child you want.  Yeah, that sounds creepy as hell.  

This fantasy flick stars Joel Edgerton (Warrior) and Jennifer Garner (Ben Affleck's wife) as a married couple who are unable to medically have a child of their own.

ABC Considering Another 'Alias' Series?

I'm sure there are people reading this news from E! and wondering why ABC would want to do it, but I think it's a great move for the network, especially since they're losing the J.J. Abrams connection with Lost wrapping up its run.

So I ask you: Why not Alias 2.0? Obviously, you won't have Jennifer Garner back, but it could work almost exactly the same way. Hire a hottie, put her in wigs, gets some great action scenes...and try to stay away from the soap opera antics that crept in later in the series. Plus, imagine the instant feel-good ABC gets from running promos saying "From the producers of Lost," even if Abrams just lends his name to the show but doesn't actually work on it.

Ashley Greene Churns the 'Butter'

In a shameless exercise designed solely to share a hot picture of Twilight's Ashley Greene, there's news that she's joining the cast of Butter, a new Weinstein Company comedy produced by and starring Jennifer Garner. More on the movie in a second... That's better. Now, Butter is based on a script that spent some time on the Black List, which purports to be the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood, although sometimes the scripts are better left on the shelf. From Risky Business Blog:

“Butter follows a number of competitive characters in a small Midwestern town as they become entwined in an annual butter-carving contest. Greene will play a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler."

The movie will shoot in Louisiana beginning next week.

Garner and Biel for 'Laverne & Shirley' Movie

At the time, it seemed like the sort of thing stars used in their talk show rounds to build buzz for their upcoming movie, but now it might turn serious. In the couple weeks leading up to the release of Valentine's Day, Jamie Foxx joked that Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel were like a new Laverne & Shirley, apropos because the film's director, Garry Marshall, created the Happy Days spin-off, which ran for a decade or so.

Marshall tells TV Guide that it's for reals. "Jamie and I are trying to do it. He’s writing it." Wait, what? Jamie Foxx is writing a Laverne & Shirley movie? I have suddenly lost any interest I might have had in this project. "It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times," Marshall continues. "Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley. Oh yes, I'm definitely going to accept Biel and Garner as street urchins.

Movie Review - 'Valentine's Day'

Valentine's Day Starring Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathway, and Jessica Biel Directed by Garry Marshall Rated PG-13

It’s a bad sign when Ashton Kutcher is the best thing about a movie. Unfortunately for Valentine’s Day, his is the only story (of way too many) that does anything unexpected. Most of that, of course, is by design: It’s a movie called Valentine’s Day, released on Valentine’s Day weekend, and its focus is so narrowed on women that director Garry Marshall throws romantic comedy staples Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, and Jennifer Garner into the same exercise in phony Hollywood love-peddling with two hunky doctors from Grey’s Anatomy and Jessicas Alba and Biel. To ensure no double-X chromosome is left out of Marshall’s shameless panhandling, the older demo is served by Shirley MacLaine, and teens might pay to see the canoodling Taylors, Lautner and Swift. There’s also an interracial romance angle and a gay coupling, too, just so all the bases are covered. The trouble is, all the stories – except the one involving Kutcher, Alba, and Garner – are pretty much the same, if not in the details then certainly in the scope: Begin with happiness, experience sadness, find more happiness. Even though the list of cast members is almost as long as things that are wrong with the movie, it's difficult to know whether to accuse Valentine's Day of what is very obviously guerrilla marketing and almost nothing else or whether to praise it for at least going all out and admitting it will do anything for money, in the dim hope that this kind of prostitution will keep other studios from attempting the same thing a year from now. After all, Garry Marshall and company have left no stone unturned and if you can't find joy in this cheap, expressionless, mechanical romancectomy, what the hell's wrong with you?
