Warner Bros. Wants to Give ‘Pinocchio’ the Tim Burton Treatment

  

Warner Bros. seems to have a clear vision on who should bring their live-action version of Pinocchio to the big screen, and he has a vision all his own.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has offered the movie to Tim Burton and it appears he is very interested.  Burton in turn has approached Robert Downey Jr. to play the wood-carving Gepetto. 

After Alice in Wonderland’s wildly successful and profitable run in 2010, it’s a no-brainer that Warner Bros. is looking to hand their project over to Burton.

Johnny Depp to Produce & Star in Dr. Seuss Biopic?

Johnny Depp played the writer of Peter Pan in Finding Neverland, and he may fill the role of another famous author very soon.  THR reports that Depp will team with Universal to produce a biopic about Dr. Seuss, leaving open the possibility he'll star as well.  Everyone I know was raised on the classic children's stories of Dr. Seuss from "One Fish, Two Fish" to "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?".

Depp's Creepy Glance Highlights New 'Rum Diary' Poster

To say I'm psyched for The Rum Diary would be a massive understatement.  I can't wait to see Johnny Depp take on another role inspired by the mind of the late Hunter S. Thompson as burnt out, freelance journalist Paul Kemp in the upcoming movie.

Bruce Robinson has written and directed this newest Thompson film adaptation, the first trailer of which was outstanding.  I included it with the new poster after the jump.

'Dark Shadows': New Cast Picture

Has an extremely-pasty Michael Jackson look-a-like been replaced? Thankfully... yes.  Johnny Depp no longer looks like he slathered a thick layer of sunscreen on and can be seen as Barnabas Collins in the first cast photo Dark Shadows, a supernatural soap opera based on the 1966-71 TV series by the same name.  I must say, the resulting look had an amazing american-gothic appeal to it and I'm sure Tim Burton won't disappoint on aesthetical grounds.  See the picture after the jump.

Johnny Depp in Set Photos From Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows'

Hey it's not every day there's a vampire movie I actually want to see.  Quirky filmmaker Tim Burton is teaming with Johnny Depp for the millionth time, now connecting on a film adaptation of the 1960's supernatural soap opera Dark Shadows.  The proof is in the pudding, when these two collaborate good movies are the end result.  

Joining Depp will be some familiar names (Mrs. Burton) Helena Bonham Carter, Chloe Moretz, Michelle Pfeiffer and Jackie Earle Haley.
