Trailer for Rom Com 'The Five-Year Engagement'

Emily Blunt way too hot for Jason Segel even in a bad photo.There's a big difference between rom coms like The Five-Year Engagement (produced by genius Judd Apatow) and ones in the mold of New Year's Eve...One looks funny and cute, while the other could be used more effectively as a torture device.  Basically, there needs to be a sub genre for rom coms.  One in which Bridesmaids has already set the bar really high in, as a romantic comedy that is more hilarious than cute with subtle humor.

And the Oscar for Best Comedy goes to…

If these are the words that you’re longing to hear then either your name is Judd Apatow or you really need to get out more.  In an article that ran in the L.A. Times, Apatow vented his frustration with the academy’s apparent bias against the comedy genre, while advocating the addition of a Best Comedy Picture category.

Apatow was obviously citing the dearth of comedies that have achieved the ultimate prize.  No Academy love for such deserving classics as; Knocked Up, Drillbit Taylor or even the memorable Year One.

Jason Segel Gets Role in Judd Apatow's 'This is Forty'?

It's a truly sad state of affairs when the Facebook page of Megan Fox is used to break a story, but it is what it is.  Fox, who has a starring role in Judd Apatow's Knocked Up spin-off This is Forty, spilled the beans on the popular site that funny man Jason Segel will join the cast of the upcoming comedy using this provocative picture of her with Segel and Bridemaids standout Chris O'Dowd.

The photo's caption reads "On set of THIS IS 40, with Jason and Chris...Two very handsome, very tall, VERY funny men."

Casting For Judd Apatow's New Untitled Project

Judd Apatow’s new film is currently shooting with Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann reprising their Knocked Up roles.  The project serves as a spin-off with the couple, along with their kids, in an all-new story.  Earlier in the year we reported that Megan Fox was cast in an unspecified role, now The Hollywood Reporter reported that two new roles have been casted.

'Bridesmaids' Now Judd Apatow's Highest-Grossing Movie Ever?

Go see Bridesmaids if you've failed to do so and that's an order!  Kristen Wiig's surprise comedy has been en fuego since its May 13 release, and is on pace to break all sorts of box office records.  In fact, Bridesmaids was closing in on becoming Judd Apatow's biggest movie ever as of last night, according to THR. 

The Apatow produced comedy was en route to surpassing Knocked Up's, a previous Apatow comedy, domestic gross of $148,760,000 last night, while also proving to be Universal's most successful R-rated film ever.
