'Jurassic Park 4' Goes Back To The Incubator

Just how damn hard is it to make another installment in an immensely popular franchise?  Pretty damn, apparently.  Jurassic Park IV has been in development hell since the Triassic era, but it was recently announced that Universal had set the release date for June 2014. Were you convinced by that?  Me neither.  So, it's not much of a surprise that it was just announced that the film has been delayed.  This is the...what, fifteenth time it's happened?

'Jurassic Park 4' Stomping Into Theaters In June 2014

They just heard the news too.

Anyone remotely conscious during the 90's can precisely recall the small tickle of terror that crept up in their guts when the T-Rex first lifted it's head and let out a pants-soiling roar in Jurassic Park.  Since the release of Jurassic Park 3 in 2001, we've seen no more from the franchise, but news today has confirmed that Jurassic Park 4 is indeed on the way, and it will be in theatres in a little over a year.  Keep an eye on any glasses of water you may have around you.

New 'Jurassic Park 3D' Poster Prepares Us For One More Visit

Complain all you want about the 3D milking that modern studios are doing, I'm happy about one thing: Re-releases.  There just isn't anything like getting to see a classic movie in a theater, and we're getting the chance to revisit plenty of them.  The next one up to get that kind of treatment is Spielberg's old sci-fi classic Jurassic Park.  They've released a new poster announcing it, and it's worth looking at.

What Might Have Been: 'Jurassic Park' Directed By James Cameron? Sounds Good to Me

James Cameron circa 2012 and I are not on the best of terms.  To this day, I still can’t wrap my head around the success that Avatar had.  Simply because I can’t find anything within the movie that I like.  To me it feels like a movie from a filmmaker who believes his own hype.  Now Cameron circa early 90’s and I…we have no problems.  I say this because Cameron talked about his pursuit of trying to make Jurassic Park and I have to admit, I would’ve liked to seen that version.

'Jurassic Park 4' Secures Top Shelf Writers

Mr. T-Rex isn't the only one hungry for more sequels...Some GTBP writers have recently dissed a variety of sequels, Wanted 2 for example dubbing them unnecessary.  And while many fans and critics alike would poo poo another Jurassic Park movie, I think it's a damn good idea.  Let's face it, Jurrasic Park 3 was borderline okay and failed to cap off the successful franchise, thus Jurassic Park 4 enters the discussion.  Universal has been in go mode forever and now just locked down a pair of writers to get the ball rolling.
