Here we go again. Another Underworld movie is being released in a theater near you and you may or may not be one of those people who goes to watch the film and somehow convince that the franchise is still "going strong". Sorry to say, but like all franchises in Hollywood, Underworld: Awakening has lost some major steam. See the newly released clip after the jump.

Just the other day I mentioned how Hollywood movie studios overstuff posters and how they could gain from going simple, before crowding the visual field. For some reason, the new poster for Underworld Awakening took my advice in the worst way possible.
This poster seems like some ill-advised promotional material that may or may have not steemed from some pre-production conceptual art drawing. See the poster after the jump.

I sometimes wonder how the Underworld franchise keeps surviving amongst the glut of vampire and werewolf movies. Maybe its Kate Beckinsale as "Selene" in a leather skin-tight suit or the enjoyable actions sequences... No, its definitely Kate Beckinsale. Either way, she's here to usher us with the new trailer for Underworld: Awakening. See after the jump.

Mark Wahlberg follows up the unforgettable portrayal of boxer Mickey Ward in The Fighter by playing a smuggler in the new action thriller Contraband. Contraband opens on January 13, 2012 and the first trailer has just landed on the web.
Joining Wahlberg, as a former smuggler turned security guard turned smuggler again (a tiger doesn not change its stripes) are Ben Foster, Kate Beckinsale and Giovanni Ribisi.

Somehow these films keep getting made and they keep making decent earnings at the box office. Who am I to say they should stop or at least tread new ground with their bread and butter? That's also a euphamism for Kate Beckinsale getting into that leathery suit.
