New Trailer for Charlize Theron in 'The Burning Plain'

I'm going to say something that could absolutely wreck your enjoyment of the trailer for The Burning Plain: What is up with all the fades to black? It's about every two seconds in this thing. I felt like I was contracting some rare form of glaucoma.

However, we're showing you the trailer because it's the directorial debut of Guillermo Arriaga, the writer of the three films directed by Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu, Amores Perros, 21 Grams, and Babel. He wrote this film, as well, and he's attracted Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger for his multi-generational family drama. Yeah, it's not the ambitious kind of thing we're used to from Arriaga, and it hits theaters in September, about a year after it debuted in Venice. Maybe you've caught it at one of the many film festivals that has featured Arriaga's debut in the past several months. If not, this trailer's for you:

New Images from the Sundance Drama, 'The Informers'

One of the more anticipated movies coming up at Sundance this month is The Informers, an adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel, which of course, means this is going to be the hap-hap-happiest movie on Earth.

It's an ensemble piece that stars Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, the lovely Amber Heard, and the late Brad Renfro in what is unfortunately his last movie. The Informers is set against a backdrop of the go-go 1980s in Los Angeles. I'm betting there's more cocaine here than in Michael Irvin's car. Red Band Trailer - Kim Basinger in 'While She Was Out'

Kim Basinger's got a new thrilla coming to theaters this December, and yes, that does seem like a strange time to release a film like this, but it's wintry in more ways than one, so it's OK. The movie's called While She Was Out, and it marks the writing and directing debut of producer Susan Montford.Basinger plays a suburban housewife who finds herself stranded in the woods with some unsavory individuals. I love this line from the official synopsis, and couldn't come up with anything better on my own: "What starts off as a quick trip to the mall ends in the woods with a fight for her life. All she has is a toolbox and her will to survive!"There's a new Red Band trailer for While She Was Out, which is notable for its very slow pacing, its language (that's what the Red Band is for), and the name of its executive producer, which is revealed at the end.
